The F40 is the successor to the 288 GTO. The intention with the F40 is to compete with sports cars such as the Lamborghini Countach and the Porsche 959.

• HISTORY •
This Berlinetta shaped body Ferrari is a two-door, mid-engined, rear-wheel-drive supercar. It was produced by Ferrari between the years of 1987 to 1992. It is based on the GTO Evoluzione chassis and was further improved and developed as a racing version of the Ferrari 288 GTO. Only 1315 copies were ever produced of this car.
