Top Down Maze

This is a world template to test the new experimental camera commands. Within the world you are supposed to solve a simple maze from a top-down perspective not present in the base game. Camera motion is locked. In this version of the map this camera setting is achieved by commands only, instead of an Add-On. This might result in camera stutter while moving around. This map is intended to be played using Minecraft 1.20 or higher (currently only preview versions). It might be possible to play this map in later 1.19-releases using experimental camera toggles, but this requires to edit the base game version array in the manifest file.

This experimental adventure map requires the player to solve a maze in an unfamiliar but intuitive camera perspective.

PHOTOSENSITIVE EPILEPSY: THIS MAP CONTAINS FAST MOVING IMAGES OR FLICKERING LIGHTS. IF YOU SUFFER FROM EPILEPSY OR EPILEPTIC SEIZURES OR SIMILAR NEUROLOGICAL DISORDERS, CONSULT A DOCTOR BEFORE USE. CERTAIN PATTERNS CAN INDUCE EPILEPTIC ATTACKS EVEN IN PEOPLE WITH NO PRE-IDENT CONDITIONS.

Simply find and step on the golden pressure plate to complete and restart the map.

Changelog

Updated compatible versions to display the recommended versions to use with this Add-On, which did not exist on this site during the prior submission.

Installation

Recommended installation:

- open the file with Minecraft (or Minecraft Preview) version 1.20.0 or later and wait for the import to finish

1.19 installation (not recommended):

- rename the file to end on ".zip" and unpack it to a new folder

- open the manifest.json file in Notepad or Notepad++

- change the 4th line to: "base_game_version" : [ 1, 19, 40 ],

- create a new world in your version of the game and enable command blocks, cheats and the experimental camera toggle

- copy the level.dat file from that world to the unpacked template, replacing the old one, and delete the template's level.dat_old file

- pack all contents of the folder into a default zip archive and rename it to "cam-exp-4.mctemplate"

- open the file with Minecraft 1.19.40 or later and wait for the import to finish
