Jurassic Addon (Public Beta)

Over 60 million years ago, great creatures walked the planet now extinct. From towering giants with long necks to tyrants with bone crushing bites. Now you can bring them back.

Here are some basic things to know before downloading this Addon.

Fossils:

Fossil Ore:

This ore generates at around [Y] level 60 in every biome. At the beginning level, you'll find the most recent fossils, Cenozoic and you'll have to dig deeper to find older fossils. This is the first step into creating flora and fauna.

So far, here's all the flora and fauna fossils you can find: Dilophosaurus,  Dodo , Nautilus, Stegosaurus, Velociraptor, Coelacanth, Pteranodon, Triceratops, Spinosaurus, Plesiosaurus, Brachiosaurus, Mosasaurus, Scale Tree, Tall Cycad, and Montsechia.

Permafrost:

This ore allows you to collect DNA from more recently dead organisms. You can get Dodo bones, Smilodon bones, and frozen meat.

Sifter:

This machine will sort out gravel,  Unknown Fossils, and dirt to try and get useful stuff out of them.  It might not always work. You can craft it with a crafting table, light grey carpet, and a Unknown Fossil.

Creating Flora and Fauna Step one: DNA

To start making your creature or plant, you'll need machines to create them.

First, you'll need to make some needles, syringes and storage disks:

Then, to get the DNA out of the Fossil, you'll need to make a Extractor.  You can make it with seven smooth stones, a piece of redstone, and a syringe.

Once you've made the Extractor, you need to extract the DNA into a Storage Disk, then level it it until you take out the DNA and put it in a syringe.

You can also use flesh and bones bones to "resurrect" your dead creatures. Flesh will give you full DNA and bones will give you nearly complete DNA.

Creating Flora and Fauna Step two: Cultivating

Finally, to make the eggs, you need to craft a Cultivator. You can make a Cultivator with 6 smooth stone and a glass in the middle.

Lastly, take the DNA and combine it with a chicken egg. That's how you get most creature eggs! Place it down, and the egg will hatch in between five to ten minutes.

For plants and mammals, place the DNA into the Cultivator. It will give you a plant or embryo, depending on what on put in the Cultivator. With embryos, inject it into a cow or pig, and a new mammal will be born!

Creature Welfare:

Here's everything you need to know on keeping your creatures happy:

You can have a creature free roaming or follow you by interacting with them with their tame item.

Creaturepedia: (mostly functional)

You can use the Creaturepedia to learn about your creature. It tells you about mood, life stage, diet, hunger, health, and some facts. It can be made with a Unknown Fossil and a book.

Feeders: (mostly functional)

To prevent your creatures from starving and attacking anything that could be food, you can make a Feeder to help the creature's needs. It can be crafted with a bucket, glass, iron, redstone, and stone. You can fill it up with any raw food until it's completely full.

MedStation: (mostly functional)

Over time, your creatures will get sick. Create the MedStation, and use your creature's infected blood to create vaccines to treat them.

Creative Node:

If you don't want to worry about hunger or disease, you can use the Creative Node to get rid of that entierly. You can make your creature go back to survival at any time. Only avaliable in creative mode.

Weapons:

ToothSpear and Fossil ToothSpear:

The ToothSpear has 6 attack damage with 250 durability.  The Fossil ToothSpear has 5 attack damage with 500 durability.  They can be crafted with two sticks and a tooth.

Frozen Meat:

The frozen Dodo meat is not that good of a weapon but has high durability. You can find it in Permafrost. You can also melt it in a furnace to get raw Dodo meat.

Thagomizer Swords:

The Thagomizer Sword and the Fossil Thagomizer Sword are similar in durability compared to the ToothSpears. The Thagomizer Sword has 10 attack damage, and the Fossil Thagomizer Sword has 8 attack damage.

Sickle Swords:

The Sickle Swords are also similar to the ToothSpears when compared to durability. The normal Sickle Sword has 5 attack damage and the Fossil Sickle Sword has 4 attack damage.

Horn Sword:

The Horn Sword is one of the strongest weapons in the addon, only being behind the Thagomizer Swords. The normal Horn Sword has 8 attack damage and 200 durability, but the Fossil Horn Sword has 7 attack damage and 500 durability.

Sabre Knives:

The Sabre Knife does 6 attack damage with 200 durability and the Fossil Sabre Knife does 5 attack damage with 500 durability.

Reinforced Crossbow:

The Reinforced Crossbow does little damage because it is meant to tranquilize creatures. It shoots Tranquilizer Darts and charges faster than a normal Crossbow.

Armor:

Bone and Fossil Armor:

The Bone Armor has protection points similar to Iron Armor and 200 durability. The Fossil Armor has 500 durability, but less protection. It can be crafted similarly to the Bone Armor.

Wing Suit:

The Wing Suit has 1 protection point and 200 durability.  It can help you glide far distances with the Pteranodon Orb.

Pteranodon Orb:

Using this magical item will grant you levitation for 30 seconds. It works like food and can be crafted with 8 lapis and 1 Pteranodon fossil.

Blocks:

Volcanic Blocks:

Electric and Metal Fences:

Paddock Signs:

Crafting:

Dino legs:

Dino ribs:

Stegosaurus Feet:

Flora:

Eudicots:

Although starting to appear in the Cretaceous, Eudicots can still be found today in warm biomes except for deserts and savannahs.

Scale Trees:

Living in the Carboniferous up until the Triassic, these trees were common all over the place eventually becoming coal. You can let saplings grow on their own or speed up the process with bone meal.

Cycads:

Although the earliest species showed up in the Triassic, Cycads can be found today! Look in your nearest jungle!

Tall Cycad:

This species of Cycad became extinct long ago, but you can bring them back! You can let saplings grow on their own, or speed it up with bone meal.

Montsechia:

This was one of the first flowers that evolved, and it's aquatic. It lived around 130 million years ago in the Cretaceous Period. Can you bring it back?

Fauna:

Dilophosaurus:

AD

This carnivore has 9 attack damage with the speed of a wolf. About 2 blocks tall and 6 blocks in length.

They can be bred with cooked meat, (except for fish), sleep at night, and tamed and controlled with a bone.

Nautilus:

These are peaceful mobs that spawn in the deep ocean. They are a good food source for your aquatic creatures and can be inside your aquarium. They drop nautilus which you can cook, and their shells.

Like the Dilophosaurus, it can be tamed and controlled with a bone, or hatching out of a egg, sleep in the day, and can be bred with meat. They have about the same stats as a wolf.

Coelacanth:

These big fish spawn in the deep ocean and a great aquarium attraction. Like all fish, they drop themselves when killed but don't eat them! You will get sick.

Pteranodon:

These neural creatures fly up to 50 blocks high and go wherever they want. They can be tamed and controlled with nautilus shells, sleep at night, and you can feed them fish. Make sure to build a roof to keep your Pteranodons safe!

Triceratops:

This large dinosaur will be nice to you, as long as you don't attack it. The triceratops can be tamed and controlled with a stick, bred with apples, and sleep at night.

Smilodon:

These creatures will attack almost anything that can be a decent meal. If spawned in a snowy environment, it will be white. They are diurnal and can be tamed and controlled with a bone.

Spinosaurus:

These are giant semiaquatic dinosaurs that travels long distances, and love fish. They are diurnal, and can be tamed and controlled with a with a bone.

Plesiosaurus:

This reptile diversified into many species until the Cretaceous from being outcompeted by Pliosaurs. Plesiosaurus are diurnal, and tamed and controlled with a nautilus shell.

These large marine reptiles from the Late Cretaceous are constantly hunting what ever it can grab. they are diurnal, and can be controlled and tamed with a nautilus shell.

That's all for the Addon right now, soon more creatures and bug fixes will be released so you can have a better time making dinos.
