Bugs, stability & tweaks are now the main focus for the Minecraft 1.16 Update – Just like java edition this week bedrock has a brand new beta focusing on squashing those pesky issues, with only 13 changes in this weeks beta.

PLEASE READ before participating in the Minecraft Beta:

  • Joining the beta will replace your game with a work in progress version of Minecraft
  • You will not have access to Realms and will not be able to join non-beta players while you’re previewing the beta
  • Any worlds played while in the beta cannot be opened in previous versions of the game so please make copies of worlds to prevent losing them
  • Beta builds can be unstable and are not representative of final version quality
  • The beta is available only on Xbox One, Windows 10, and Android (Google Play). To join or leave the beta, see aka.ms/JoinMCBeta for detailed instructions


Crashes and Stability

  • Fixed several graphics-related crashes 
  • Fixed a bug where the game would crash if the player attempted to purchase coins without being signed into Xbox Live 
  • Fixed a crash that could occur when attempting to create a world with the “ZigZag” resource pack applied


  • The fancy leaves option now appears correctly in the settings on Windows 10
  • Fixed an issue where cubemaps were not fully updating when resource packs were changed 
  • Fixed a bug that could sometimes cause fonts to disappear after quitting to the main menu 
  • Fixed an issue with flickering usernames above players’ heads 
  • Fixed an issue where chunks would flicker after altering render distance values
  • Fixed an issue where the missing textures were constantly being converted which would cause the game to spam warnings in the log message


  • Running the /kill command will now correctly kills summoned NPCs (MCPE-65403
  • Set the default chat font to Mojangles (MCPE-45857)


  • Fixed bug where, on some platforms, thumbnails would infinitely load in the marketplace
  • Fixed issue where the download bar was not always functioning correctly
